Wall Street Journal - MarketWatch -- CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- In what he calls an "educational video" that's widely circulated on YouTube, comedian Chris Rock offers advice on what to do when you get pulled over for a traffic violation.

"Obey the law" he says. "Stop immediately" and "stay in your car with your hands on the wheel." Finally, "if your woman is mad at you, leave her at home. There's nothing she'd like to see more than you getting your [you-know-what] kicked."

This stretch of I-75 in Georgia is known for it's "speed traps" and other revenue enhancing methods.

If you believe the Officer is wrong the time to press your point is not now, but in front of the judge. Just make sure you have all of your facts straight.

Cops are trained to note the human characteristics of lying, including twitching and looking to the left, and they know the right questions to ask to suss out the truth. I thought when you get pulled over, you are looking to the left since that is where the cop is going to be standing when he asks for you license and registration. So basically don't look at the cop or you might be lying?

In my experience, 66% of cops are corrupt and WILL lie. After all, it's always your word against theirs and the judge will always take theirs first. Not much you can do. With that said, it's good to respect them just as you would anybody else with no assumptions or prejudices. If they are corrupt, you're screwed from the getgo anyways. If they aren't, respecting them as a human being will get you respect. Either way, it's good to be calm and respectful.

Usually it's "Do you know how fast you were going"? just say "Yes". If it's "How fast were you going"? tell them 5-10 miles slower than you were actually going.

Being courteous and honest is the best response, most likely resulting in a warning. The one time I argued with the trooper ended with a $150 ticket.
