North Dakota oil output still soaring

GasBuddy Blog -- North Dakota is one of the bright spots in domestic oil production, and continues to experience growth at a breakneck pace. According to the North Dakota Industrial Commission, output hit nearly 610,000 barrels per day in July, up close to 70% from just a year ago when production was 361,000 barrels per day.

Thanks to the massive increase in crude production from North Dakota, Bloomberg says "the U.S. met 83 percent of its energy demand from domestic sources in the first five months of this year, heading for the highest annual level since 1991, according to department figures compiled by Bloomberg."
Bloomberg's story goes on to say,“It’s amazing how quickly production has grown, and it’s still in its early stages,” Christian...

ok, we have huge oil reserves here. time to leave the global market and be energy independent instead of shipping what we drill overseas. we should all get a piece of the profit when they ship away our natural resources, or in my opionion keep what we drill here and invest in other resources and innovation. there is a car that runs on compressed air, look it up.

All the oil we drill goes on the open market gets shipped overseas, crazy way to be energy independent.

WE0H: Pig Oil is comprised of private companies. Are you saying you want the government meddling in how much they can charge for their products? If so, welcome to Communism. Methinks Cuba and China might be your best bets besides Venezuela where you will be able to find such a thing happening.

As for the US, I, for one, am glad that the government is not dictating prices, even though Pig Oil is making way too much money.

So we have so much oil yet our government lets the oil companies dictate our fuel prices based upon foreign oil supplies and prices. Can you say crooks?

So have North Dakota remove its income tax of 1.5 to 4 pct like Texas, Alaska, and South Dakota that have NO income taxes. Then Rail (BNSF) oil to Duluth MN for refining and distribution.

Just think of the growth and possibilities for our economy if this were able to happen in all areas where we have natural resources to pursue. Remember this in November.

If we are producing so much oil, then why don't we use it here, and lower our gas prices. Like Arab countries do???

Should that oil be only sold domestically? You want the government taking over the oil market?

Oil prices are set on the international market. U.S. producers could charge less for domestically used crude, but why would they?
