GM? OnStar? OnStar gps spy’s? RelayRides? Hertz? Enterprise? Avis? ZipCars? car sharing? owners rent their vehicles out? Insurance concerns? No way! My vehicle is My vehicle! NO renting allowed! If you want to rent a vehicle, go to the 'rent a vehicle' place! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012

Sure let some bank robber use your car to stick up the local bank and probably crash it during the high speed chase that ensues...
And your new insurance rates will cost hundreds of dollars a momth.
One of the most stupid things I've heard of.....

Not worth the trouble unless you know the person you are renting your car.

Looks like easy money but I can tell you from experience it is more trouble than the average person wants. Just a couple of problems, your finance company will not be happy if you rent the car they hold a loan on to some one they don't know and call the loan under the terms of the contract. And what about your insurance company that insure only your family, they may say oops no more insurance for you. Most states require the owner of the vehicle have primary liability insurance. Some things that look easy and profitable are not so easy and certianly not profitable.

There are some risks in this idea. One major risk is having the price of the vehicle and other costs go up, and this is not the time for it.

Government Motors. Can't make it without taxpayer dollars, and apparently needs lots of gimmicks even to make it now.

Every one is just worrying about what will happen to their rented-out cars. The liability issues are breathtaking. What will your insurance company say about your car being driven by unknown people? They get into an accident that hurts people or worse. You think the lawsuits will only be against the driver and Relay Rides? They've thought of all that? I wouldn't bet my house and livelihood on it.

I would let someone rent an older car if their was a way to figure out their driving record and if they actually had insurance.
